Green Infrastructure
After successfully trialling a prototype rain garden, we were awarded funding from Local Places for Nature to put semi-permanent planters along St Helens Road. Helped by members of the Vetch Community Garden, and volunteers from EYST and the YMCA, we revived two neglected planters outside of St Helens Primary School and installed a mix of rain and dry planters on St Helens Road. These were fabricated in steel by artist and blacksmith Angharad Pearce Jones, and colour matched with our pattern palette to create a visual connection along the street. The planting schemes were created by Horticultural Designer Owen Hayman.
