Still Life Drawings
Artist Lucy Donald led drawing workshops with residents of Homegower House, a retirement housing complex, and April Court Residential Home, both situated on St Helens Road. She selected un/familiar produce from shops on the street to create still life arrangements. Inspired by examples of still life compositions from the Glynn Vivian Collection, a variety of techniques were used, with the workshops focusing on talking about people’s experiences of living on the street. The groups created artworks before sampling the fruits and vegetables.
